Over the past thirteen years, Enloe Charity Ball has blossomed into something tremendous. Last year alone, Enloe students raised over $118,000 for Learning Together, an early childhood education center that aims to meet developmental, educational, and health needs of young children of all abilities. Student Council members looked to the community and student body for donations, participation in fundraising events, and volunteering. Some of these student lead fundraisers included an outdoor concert featuring student artists and performers, an art auction at CAM Raleigh featuring student artwork, ticket sales, Homeroom Wars, and the Donate a Ticket program for Enloe students that may not be able to afford a ticket to Charity Ball.
Keep up with us this Charity Ball season as we plan to raise $120,000 for Urban Ministries of Wake County, a multi-faceted nonprofit which works to tackle three main issues: hunger, homelessness, and a lack of proper healthcare.
Urban Ministries is a multi-faceted nonprofit which works to tackle three main issues: hunger, homelessness, and a lack of proper healthcare. To address these problems they implement nutritional programs such as a food pantry and cooking classes, a clinic and on-site pharmacy, and educational courses. They also run the Helen Wright Center, a program shelter for single homeless women--America’s most at risk population. These services are made successful by the countless volunteers and support from the community. We have chosen Urban Ministries since their three main areas of focus work well to culminate our dozen years of service and allow us to begin building up the next generation of volunteers in our world.
